Andy Lewis

Lewis started his safety journey in 2002 and has worked in many sectors in the UK such as Local Government, Public Transportation and Aviation as well as Electrical and Construction environments.

Holding qualifications through City & Guilds in OHS, Lewis is a certified Lead Auditor in OHS, QMS & EMS, a certified ICAM Lead Investigator, as well as having professional training and assessors’ qualifications and is an accredited EXTENDED DISC practitioner. Lewis is also a member of IOSH (UK), the NSCA Foundation (AUS) and is a Professional Member (Safety) of the Hong Kong OHS & Health Association.

Since his move to Australia in 2011, Lewis has Consulted on several high-profile safety projects such as Service Streams’ NBNco & AMRS Solar projects, TPG’s VHA rollout and Broadcast Australia’s National DTV Restack Infrastructure project.

In 2012 Lewis started consulting as an independent, with the focus of making Safety, Risk Management and Compliance user friendly. In 2016 Lewis re-launched as WHS Australia.

Since 2016, Lewis has consulted with one of Australia’s leading security firms and has worked closely with a major aviation hub as well as guiding a number of organisations through the ISO certification routes for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 as well as OHSAS 18001, ISO 27001, ISO 31000, ISO 27001 and ISO 26000.

Since 2017, WHS Australia has also delivered several EXTENDED DISC training sessions, which allows organisations and individuals to better understand their levels of behaviours in the existing work environment.

Lewis is committed to making a significant difference to organisations who wish to take the steps forward to drive culture change and create a progressive safety culture within their organisation.

In November 2017, Lewis started working with Winc Australia and is now their Risk and Corporate Compliance Director and guided the business to become the first Bureau Veritas ANZ client to be certified to the new ISO 45001:2018 standard.
